Writing a jQuery plugin is fun. I enjoyed writing jquery-presenter (web-based presentation tool) and jquery-powered-button (button to say site is powered by jQuery).
I've been using s5-presenter for my lecture slides, but now I use my very own jquery-presenter. This is currently a small hack, but I am planning to grow it further with lots of new features.

We live in a world where communication is the key to success.
I had already heard just enough about both Perl and Python. But, somehow I was not able to decide on which one to learn first OR learn both OR neither and why?
Finally, I opted to go for Python first. Reasons: (below links open in new window)
Why Python? by Eric Raymond
It seems easy to learn. (Perhaps, this can be even first language for newbies)
There are very few Python expertise available in India.
...
And tossing a coin also indicated Python. :) (just kidding)
So,
print "Hello World!"

I got my first real six-string
Bought it at the rupees thirty-five hundred
Yet not played till my fingers bled
It is summer of '05
Me and some guys from office
Will have a band and we'll try real hard
Chintu joined and Shrini got piano
I know will always get far
Oh when I look forward now
This summer seems to start forever
And since we have the choice
Ya - We'd always wanna be there
Those will be the best days of our life

and not tommorow. Ya, I've seen many people spell "tomorrow" incorrectly and most
of the time like "tommorow". Google search on "tommorow" gives about 516,000 results.
Just wondering what could be the reason? May be people pronounce it "tom-mo-row" and not
"to-mor-row" and the wrong pronunciation leads to wrong spelling.
Few more variants are
"tommorrow" (Google search: 375,000 results)
"tomorow" (Google search: 166,000 results)

Random thoughts about Linux-Bangalore 2004 trip:
bluesmoon ((most entertaining) talk) certified geek.
- Journey:
- 24Hrs journey sucks.
- Conference Organization:
- Mikes were wireless + useless.
- White boards were there - only markers were missing.
- Entertainment was dropped. (but still I feel it was there)
- Ringing mobile phones - background music for the talks.
- Game - Find out where is talk going on?
- Speakers were good.
- Volunteers:
- Why don't they have some dress code? (It would have been easy to locate them)
A: Where is xyz's talk on abc going on? Volunteer: in 90 seater. A goes to schedule banner(DNS) to map 90 seater to hall name.
- Yahoo! Quiz:
- Quiz first question would have been "Where is quiz going on?"
- One can win Yahoo! T-shirt in 2 minutes. But it wasn't too easy.
- Why they asked for a pencil?
- Bangalore Roads:
- Roads are clean but not clean enough to understand how they are connected.
- Too many signals, very few fly-overs.
- (funny?) boards on signals -
- Don't cross yellow line.
- Don't drink and drive.
- in bus -
- Use of mobile phone inside the buses is prohibited.
Just think for a moment, if you want to write 11th day of month September of year 2001, how will you write this date? (Please think for your answer)
Date can be expressed in so many different ways.
9/11/2001
11/9/2001
11.9.2001
2001-9-11
2001-09-11
2001-11-09
11-SEP-'01
2001-Sep-9
2001-September-9
2001 September 9
... and many more combinations.
Now, with Internet when information is available from all parts of the globe, it is very necessary to follow some standard
(clear) convention to write dates.
Basically, representing a date one need a year, month and day in some order; and also need a separator. Also, one has to decide about how to write day and month less than 10.
I guess, according to ISO standards, date should be written in YYYY-MM-DD format. But, date written in this format can be misleading. Because you'll not be sure about day and month (cases where DD is between 01 to 12) digits unless it is explicitly specified that it follows YYYY-MM-DD format. So, I feel standard format should be in such a way that dates written in that format are never misleading and so no need to specify which standard it follows.
In that case, I feel date standard format should be YYYY-MMM-DD, what do you say?

I feel very uncomfortable to read newspaper, mainly searching theater/movie/play or job ads. There is no easy way to quick search, because the layout and positioning of ads is not fixed and always in different sizes (because, it depends upon how much one is paying for those ads) also, fonts used are not so same (ehhh...).
But, how good it would be if there is a fixed template (don't mind if it varies little bit accordingly). Also, how easy it would be if there is an index for news/ads/job postings. I agree, having an index is bit difficult to charge for ads. One will always go for small size ads because anyway intended readers are going to find it easily through the index.
Whatever it is but I am in search of well organized, well formatted, easy to search newspaper.

Every HTML document must have TITLE element in HEAD section. In Web browser TITLE text appears in the top bar. It also appears in the click-able link on the search engine results. Text in TITLE element is definitely one of the key factor to rank your HTML document. But, It is irritating when you see something like this.
see what is there in title
Having any irrelevant text in TITLE section is very bad idea (or should I say netiquette?). One should use the TITLE element to identify the contents of a document.

If you don't know already, then I would like to inform you that IBM has partnered with India's Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), in Mumbai to set up the Open Source Software Resource Center (OSSRC). Hope, we@C-DAC Mumbai will have wonderful time working on that.
